How do brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi balance academic and fraternal commitments?We get it—school always comes first! Our events and activities are planned with your academic success in mind, and the chapter is here to support you every step of the way. Many of our members have upwards to 10 or 12 classes per semester or max out their credit hours. Our goal is to keep academic and fraternal commitments parallel to each other, so that we can each continue to strive for the highest.

How can I join Kappa Kappa Psi?Joining starts with attending our interest events to get to know us better! From there, you’ll learn about the fraternity and how to take the first steps toward becoming part of the brotherhood. Check out our news feed for more information regarding upcoming interest events.

Are there specific requirements to become a membership candidate?Yes, but they’re straightforward! You must be currently enrolled, or previously enrolled within the immediate previous semester, in any band ensemble operating under Kennesaw State University. You must also be in good academic standing, and, most importantly, share our love for music, leadership, and service.

Can I join if I’m not in the band?Unfortunately, being a member of a band ensemble is a primary requirement for active membership in Kappa Kappa Psi, since our purpose is to serve the bands. You may still become a prospective member if you were in an ensemble in the immediate previous semester, however in order to maintain an active status, you will need to join one of our ensembles. You can find the list of available ensembles here. We highly suggest joining an ensemble at KSU! It is quite an invaluable experience.

Do I need to be a music major to join Kappa Kappa Psi?Nope! We welcome students from all majors. In fact, the large majority of our brothers are NOT music students.

Do I have to be male to join?Not at all! Both Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma (our sister organization) pride ourselves on inclusivity. Both organizations are officially Co-Ed organizations.

Are graduate students eligible to join Kappa Kappa Psi?Absolutely! Graduate students who meet the requirements are more than welcome to go through our process and bring their unique experiences to the brotherhood.

Is prior knowledge of Greek life required to join Kappa Kappa Psi?You do not need any experience with Greek life. Everything you need to know will be explained in due time.

I’m a member of ___. Can I still join?Definitely! We encourage involvement in other organizations, and many of our members are active in multiple groups, bringing their diverse experiences to enrich our chapter. The only exception is that members cannot belong to another band service organization.

Are there financial obligations or dues required to join?Yes, there are dues to help cover national and chapter costs, but do not let that deter you! We’ll explain everything upfront, and there may be options available to assist with the costs.
